World Kindness Day
This World Kindness Day, at Black Pepper we are on our annual search again for the ‘unsung heroes’ amongst our community to recognise their contribution to society. We want to celebrate them as Australia’s Kindest Person 2025 and to shed light on the lives they've changed.
After all, kindness is best when it is shared with those around us.
THE SEARCH BEGINS
Has someone in your life come to mind? Perhaps a mother, daughter, sister, aunt or special friend who deserves a round of applause? Maybe, it’s you?
Whoever it is, now is the time to spread their story of kindness with the world.
The national winner will receive $5000 donated by Black Pepper to a charity of their choice and a $1000 Black Pepper voucher. State winners will receive a $500 Black Pepper voucher and other prizes for state finalists.
Nominations are now open. Simply complete the Nomination form which takes about 2 minutes.
WHERE TO FROM HERE
State finalists will be chosen from the nominations by the end of August. This will then be followed by a people's choice voting opportunity during the month of September where our Black pepper customers and the public will be invited to vote for their favourite State Finalists. By October, State Winners will be elected, and the judging panel consisting of previous World Kindness Day winners will nominate the National winner to be announced on World Kindness Day 13th November 2025.
We are so proud of our previous World Kindness Day winners and finalists. Take a moment to ready their stories.
MEET OUT 2024 WINNER, AUSTRALIA'S KINDEST PERSON
Heather Baird, who lived in orphanages and foster homes from the age of 2 ½, experienced many difficult situations but the one that stuck with her the most was going to school with other foster children in old clothes and wishing she could have nice things.
Heather had always wanted to help children in similar situations, so in 2014 she started A Better Life for Foster Kids which supports foster children and their carers with clothing, toiletries and other essentials, furniture, advice and referrals and funds for foster kids to participate in normal childhood activities.
Alongside this well-deserved title, Heather receives Black Pepper vouchers, additional prizes from our valued sponsors, and a $5,000 donation to her charity.
